Primary Matting - is intended to be the first part of a barrier mat zone, usually situated outside under a canopy or immediately inside the building. It will have the cleaning function to remove heavy dirt and moisture.

Secondary Matting -  should be located beyond the primary matting and will remove foot moisture and finer particles of dirt.
